TRO Pic in here Traffic Management

My career in Traffic Management began in 1982 when I took up the post of Draughtsman in the Traffic Section at Sunderland Borough Council. Initially, my duties were fairly menial and involved preparation of plans for Committee meetings etc although I did do some minor design work after a while.

In 1987 I joined Newcastle City Council and here I gained much more experience and held greater responsibility. As a result, it was during this time that I gained Incorprorated status and joined the then Institution of Highways and Transportation.

I moved to Durham County Council in 1990, where I remained for seventeen years, and my knowledge and experience both broadened and deepened. I also gained a small amount of management experience.

In 2007 I left the public sector and joined an American multinational company that had, within its portfolio, contracts with Highway Authorities. I learned a lot in a short time in this post but, unfortunately, I was made redundant in 2010 as a result of cuts imposed in anticipation of the spending review.

My CV is available upon request.
